Disney Cruise Line Expansion

One of the most sought-after cruise destinations is Alaska. Years ago, it was thought that only retired people went on Alaskan cruises, but with the increase of environmental interest as well as the years of raves about Alaskan cruises, this particular journey is becoming popular with honeymooners and families alike. Nowadays, these cruises are full of more than just white hairs, but hairs of all colors and lengths. And now, Disney is getting in on the action.

That’s right, starting in 2011, Disney Cruise Lines will be offering Alaska as a destination. There are twenty-somethings in my office chomping at the bit to book their Disney Alaska cruise. So, Disney is definitely getting in on something that is a growing trend, not a fleeting one (pardon the pun). And with Disney’s appeal to families with children, more and more young people will be among the ranks of those who can brag about their fantastic cruise to Alaska.

The cruise ship The Wonder will sail out of Vancouver, British Columbia, so if you plan to book this cruise, be prepared to get yourself to Canada first. These seven-day cruises will only take place during the summer season, with May 3rd being the first available cruise date. Currently, the prices are scheduled to be around $1000 per person. As always, this is based on two people staying in one room (double occupancy.)

Whether you are interested in wildlife, outdoor adventure, whale spotting, or just taking a long, rather rare cruise with beautiful views, the Disney Alaska cruises are sure to please.
